Lisa Young- String Instructor

B.S. Music Education- Lebanon Valley College  | M.S. Education Development & Strategies- Wilkes University

Originally from Pennsylvania, Lisa has educated hundreds of string students in both the public education setting and privately as part of her studio. L Young String Studio began as a part-time endeavor in 2010 while she was earning her degree and continued to expand during her 10 years teaching in public schools (Gettysburg, PA and Arlington, TX).

In early 2022 after the brunt of the COVID pandemic, she took her studio full time, working with students both in-person and in a virtual setting. She now serves students of all ages and levels of experience locally in Gilbert, AZ and has virtual students across 21 different states.

Experience

Lisa has been playing the cello for the past 23 years including performing for the Hanover Symphony and the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra, recording and touring with a Baltimore steampunk band, performing for weddings and events, and playing cover songs in public venues for fun. She believes in the versatility of string instruments to be used for more than just classical music and exploring what brings a musician the most joy and success during the learning process.

  • "My goal as an educator is to meet every student where they are...and then push them to their fullest potential."

Every musician has their own strengths, areas for growth, learning styles, literature preferences, inspirations, and motivations.
You are unique and your learning experience should be, too.
